Why Me?

For parents of special children, the unknown is terrifying. Worries of whether your child will "be ok". Wanting to do everything to "help" your child. Wanting to be a good mom or dad. Listening to doctors and therapists saying conflicting things and wondering what to do, believing each decision to be the most critical one you've ever made in your life. With all this, sometimes you deny your own needs.

I love my special son. I know he will take this world by storm. He is brilliant. He is moral. He is considerate. He is sometimes bossy! He is one of the best people I know. But at weak moments, we all need to pause for inspiration before continuing to put the increased levels of energy into raising our kids, and keeping the family functioning.
